On a recent stay, I battled the wall thermostat for several days, then reported a problem to the FD.

Returned to the room that evening, and there was a note on the wall thermostat telling me that I had to control the A/C using the controls on the unit, below the window.

Which begs the questions... why have the wall thermostat, and what is its function?
