Makes it annoying when you travel abroad.
Out of the major U.S. laptop manufacturers, which number a total of 3, namely Apple, Dell, and HP, Apple does not use 3-prong plugs except on the extension cable. I haven't had a Dell or HP in a long time but neither had a 3-prong plug when I had them.
I'm not sure what the minor players in the industry do.
With respect to travel, I just put a different plug on the MacBook's power supply and there's no need to use an adapter.
