Going back to the OP, the impression I get is they seem to be implying you were using the ant thing to get a free night out of them, and then the owners "listen buddy, sounds like you're dissatisfied a lot." comment makes it seem like they have you pegged as some kind of 'serial complainer' who actively looks for things to be dissatisfied with in pursuit of compensation.

The only thing I can think of is maybe we are missing some details as to how the request for compensation was approached, perhaps it was done so in a manner that the GM didn't feel was appropriate, which compounded an existing underlying prejudice already held towards the OP, giving rise to the suspicion that he must have an ulterior motive. Personally I don't think I would expect, nor ask for a free night in lieu of some ants in a room when I arrived, just that the problem be sorted, but each to their own.

To the OP, out of curiosity, have you requested previous Hilton stays be comped for things you have been dissatisfied with in the past?
