Also, one thing that could be considered "fraud" by a hotel is exceeding the number of allowed guests per room. At most hotels in the US, most rates include up to 2 adults per room, and there's an extra charge for additional adults, even if the room has bedding such as 2 queen beds that can easily accommodate 4 adults. This came to mind since you said that you are traveling with a group and occupying 3 rooms, but didn't say how big your group was.
