I for one am also unhappy with the recent service on the Piccadilly line to LHR. That being said I am VERY HAPPY that we have a generally reliable cheap rail service to get to LHR. How many other major international cities have "airport surcharges" for airport stops, even when they are no further away than "normal" stops? I live in Camden, and can get to LHR avoiding Zone 1 for £1.50 off peak! Amazing value, even if the service isn't always perfect. Even a peak Zone 1 to LHR is only £5.10. How much does a HeX single cost if you just rock up at the station? You're not paying much, so it's hardly fair to expect a 5* service.

And how much do you think the HeX would be without the tube? Do you think it would be as "luxurious" as it is if there wasn't a cheap alternative luring potential passengers away? And would you like the roads to be filled with all the thousands of people that normally take the tube? Thank goodness for the tube!
