Several brands of Hilton properties use the same type of wall-mounted digital thermostat which I have not yet been able to figure out how to work properly. Notwithstanding the heat/off/cool switch and digital-temperature setting, I can't find a way to set the room temperature at a given temperature and keep it there. Instead, the thermostats seem to be subject to an underlying program, such that at a given hour, or after a given amount of time, the room temperature will revert to a certain preset temperature. Sometimes I can manually change it back where I want it, but sometimes I can't.

I got really frustrated today when the temperature in my Homewood Suites room kept reverting to heat-84 degrees no matter what I changed the settings to. Twice, the building maintenance fellow came to fiddle with the controls, but even he wasn't able to change the setting using the digital wall-mounted thermostat -- instead, he disabled that unit so I can use the window-mounted analog dial.

Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me? I'd really like to have a simple thermostat in Hilton rooms that I can set to a given temperature and be confident that it will stay there until I leave or re-set it.
