Add Poland to the list. I remember the Mrs (visiting quite often when I was UK-full-time-based) reporting, with a slight degree of bafflement, jubilant rounds of applause on her regular W6/FR flights e.g. GDN-DSA/WMI-EMA/WAW-BHX. Funnily enough, we were both on a WAW-FCO (AZ) the other day and scattered hand-clapping noises were also heard from the back (reading this thread i.e. the Italy thing, I would have expected more than that to be honest!).
