I think they should offer the substitute from coach for free as well, BUT I am so desperate to see the airlines be successful with the food-for-sale program (as I think it is ultimately the way to better food on board as well as perhaps a return to profitability and growth for the airlines) that I wouldn't contest the issue for now.

And my ultimate fantasy is for an airline to offer premium wine half bottles for sale in First Class, so that with a meal one could pick a premium wine and savor it for a while with the meal. I would welcome the chance to pay for this (and I am so tired of the absolute crap wines served on board these days, although they're much better on AA than DL).
