I've stayed here before several times and have always had a good experience. I recently had a 3 night stay and it was great.
The front desk staff were very cheery and helpful in the several interactions that I had with them. The setup of the hotel takes a little getting used to. The main entrance is pretty much for drive up traffic but you enter off a different entrance if coming off public transit-this entrance can be a bit better marked IMO. The elevator had a sheet that described well what was on what floor. This hotel is well connected to public transit.
As mentioned the rooms are recently renovated. Very nice job. I was upgraded to what they called a 'junior suite' which seemed pretty much to me a very big room. Very nice and well set up.
Separate sink/tub and toilet rooms. This set up is common in France IME. Someone else talked about the tub with the glass shower 'curtain' that only goes about a third of the way--- these are very common in France IME (perhaps in Europe too?) and they require a lot of care when showering to make sure that water doesn't get all over.
There was a minibar frig in the room that your could chill beverages in. The chair at the desk seemed a bit cheap--they're going to end up replacing these a lot more than they want I suspect.
There are two ice machines in the whole place--on the second and ninth floor. The one on the ninth floor was broken. In my experience, European hotels aren't great about providing ice machines so anything is a plus ^ in my book
On the weekend the plat breakfast was in the restaurant. I can't remember exactly what was the issue but I was disappointed in the buffet breakfast. The breakfast spread in the lounge on weekdays was much better. The lounge was very nice and more what one would expect of a lounge both food and service wise. Now when I was there it was very quiet-- four or five days before Christmas -- so the business traffic was probably minimal (and the prices were very attractive

).
