I have not been to the St. Regis, but agree with Ritz over FS. Location is far better.

I am at the Fairmont right now, and while not *quite* as luxurious as the others, your teenagers might love the location--it is next to a very nice mall, on top of a huge area of different restaurants, and across the street from the Raffles hotel. If they are independent they could explore very well from here.
