Hey,

I have a complex award booking in business that i've re-routed a few times-- basically its:

NYC-FRA (layover)-ZRH (layover)-JNB (destination)- FRA-NYC

The First NYC-FRA section is coming up and they just opened up O class (first class saver) so i tried to change that part of the ticket.

They had me on hold a while-- and said they would have to re-validate the ticket which would cause me to lose all my other flight segments? is that valid? is there any way around this?

NYC-FRA is I class on Lufthansa
FRA-ZRH is I class on Swiss
ZRH-JNB is I class on Swiss

JNB-FRA is I class on Lufthansa
FRA-NYC is I class on Lufthansa

i'm a 1k on UA so no change fee's or anything like that.

thoughts on how i can make that change to O class on the NYC-FRA segments?
