I've quit using my Bose for air travel. I'm a side sleeper and the muffs don't work for me In D1. They also take up a lot of space and add weight which is important to us since we only take a carry-on for any trip of 3 weeks or less.

I use a stereo plug Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter/Receiver with an AfterShokz Trekz Titanium open ear, bone conduction headset and foam earplugs. It's a lot lighter, takes up less space and the Headset is also my smartphone hands free device.

You traditional headset folks are so old-fashioned.
