I was under the impression that most people thought the BE fares would be the current low fares, but without benefits (seat assignments, checked bags, etc). I thought another general consensus was that prices would not drop, but instead go up for those who want assigned seats, upgrades, miles, etc.

But again, I do understand the 'uncertainty' around these fares and I can see why you say that the bottom line is, "we don't know"
