I was on that flight. Apparently they downgauged and needed something like 14 volunteers. I was waiting at the wrong gate, thanks to the United app not having the correct one, so I missed most of the MX drama. Tons of confusion about equipment and gate availability, but despite that it managed to go only about a half hour late.
(edit: based on your post date/time I think you meant 12/19, unless they did it on consecutive days).
