As a European citizen it is possible to benefit from the German AMEX Gold card.
Although the process clearly states; 'German residents only', there's a way around.

The most important is to have a German bank account. Previously possible for free via DKB.de, now easy via N26 bank.

During the process you fill out your European adress/contact details, and at the end an ID check via Skype.

For some postal codes AMEX DE accepts 5 digits. Just fill out an extra 0.

You will receive a reference number and you can adjust your adress/details via the German (ENGLISH hotline) customer service.

You will get 15K for a 1000eur spent in 3 months. First year is free of charge.

Gold AMEX received last week and German Payback AMEX (free 4000 M&M) on its way.
