Just got back from Qasr al Sarab.
First of all, wherever you are, experiencing the Arabian Desert is a truly once in a lifetime experience. Qasr al Sarab just makes it better.
The hotel is in a Abu Dhabi owned national reserve, managed by Anantara, so here you get the chance to see a bit more than other desert resorts.
The hotel grounds are huge, with lots of rooms and many choices for eating. However you really never think you are in a big hotel. The golf cart service is faster than any other hotel I have ever been anywhere, including some of the best in Maldives and other locations around the world. Hotel was almost full while we were there and we never waited more than 5 minutes.
Also I think the GM cloned himself, because he was everywhere at all times. He was there too meet guests at check-in, I would see him at poolside checking things and then he would be welcoming guests at dinner. So a big plus to see someone so involved and available.
The activities were all very flexible, informative and a lot of fun. Morning desert walk, falconry, dune rides were all awesome.
I think food could be better, mostly lots of spices overcoming any real taste.
We had a great time, and I would recommend the hotel to anyone interested.
