Car rentals at MUC is a disaster zone and an annoying hike from the terminal. I think all companies are equally bad there. Avis does not operate its Preferred counter if it is busy, which is contrary to all logic.

www.mercedes-benz.se that model is only available with manual tranny, but that might only be Sweden.
I suggest renting a mid-size and requesting a diesel. You'll get an Audi 4 1.9 TDI. It's really the sweet spot on the Avis price list and a great car. I got over 40 mpg while pushing it around 200 km/h for half of my driving. Really nice low end torque. Only manual 6 speed, of course. Last time in Germany I was upgraded to a standard size, which was a C class diesel Merc. It was quite sluggish compared to the Audi.
