Why is IFC better than F?
US knows that IFC is a better product than meals in F - in particular the breakfast selection in F. The reason why they won't make it available in F is for that very reason. I have been told by consumer affairs the following, "If we make it available to you then we have to make it available to everyone in first class."
How sad for US when the airline has reached a point that the airline's passengers in F are envious of the meals served in the back. I've had IFC in coach before. It's hit or miss...but its better than a hard bagel, moldy fruit and the chip basket. I try to buy a meal in the airport before I board. Easy at the hub airports but not so easy at places like MIA, FLL and the like.
At least we still get free booze...for now.
