Next question is on what do you want to spend your miles? If its for flights to see Grandma in the Nordics, EB points are great value. If its to the US, EB has its merits on SK operated flights, but they are hard to get in popular times, you have more opportunities with M&M. CPH to Europe is also possible with EB, on M&M award availability is great, but you have to pay a lot of surcharges.
True. For long haul LH is a logical choice.
As of now EBG is out of my reach. Would be nice though. Flying to meet grandma for free is of course nice, but right now I'm merely trying to figure out what makes most sense with my 20-25 segments in Europe with SK + 3-4 long haul round trips with SK, LH or other Star Alliance carrier.
In ideal world the benefits of EGB + enough miles for occasional business upgrade in long haul would be perfect, but maybe not realistic as of now.
