Why naturally? Surely you can decide for yourself whether it is a good idea or not. It should not matter what party comes up with the legislation.
As a consumer I can only think it is a good idea. However, I assume the government have to make up the loss in revenue from somewhere else.
It was mainly meant tongue-in-cheek. It will make my life easier.
That said, it's hardly a progressive policy. When facing large budget cuts, I don't think it's the right priority to cut taxes for those of us lucky enough to fly instead of offering additional support to people on lower incomes.
