Obvious countries have their version of govt documents so that comparison is just silly. However I find it odd that we were either the only or one of the very few countries that allowed pax past security, even if it was only for domestic flights.

Even if an airport can handle it I personally do not see why non travelers must go all the way to the gate. Sorry I don't think it is necessary at all.
