I am traveling to Tokyo and wanted to book a room under my wife's HH account if for no other reason than she gets the points. She is not going to be staying at all. She has just blue status but we basically want to accumulate HH points under one account. I have done this in the states and just told the front desk that she is checking in later in the day. Not sure how smooth this will go overseas. Your contributions and thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

I suspect that in the US that it's a lot easier to get away with this due to the hundreds of hotels and probably front desk staff are not too bothered as long as they get the business. In Japan, I would think this may be more difficult. As stated above, in international hotels, they often ask for passports of all guests staying in the room. It depends how strict they are. It's definitely against the current rules, but many of us can legally do this as we have the old Mutual accounts, which let either myself or wife check in and get the points allocated to our joint account.
