I went skiing with a group of friends earlier this year. My mate Dave Common-Surname got his boarding pass and proceeded through security and to Boots to buy something he'd forgotten. It was only when the check out girl expressed surprise at what he was buying given that he was flying to Barbados that he checked and saw he was indeed flying to Bridgetown rather than Geneva. Cue a panicked 30 minutes of retrieving his luggage which was bound for the Caribbean.
An interesting start to a boozy ski trip
I love skiing but I may have just gone to Barbados if I had been Dave😀. I caused a bit of confusion when I was on the same flight from Puerto Rico to JFK with a mum and daughter combo that apparently shared my name. It was only when I gave a blank look to a security official commenting on my family (I was travelling alone) that there was a lot of scratching heads and chatter amongst security staff, until eventually the coincidence was cleared up and I was allowed on my way. Guess this happens from time to time.
