Won't be cheap because you're perilously close to last-minute, gotta-fly-at-any-cost territory. I'd look at western U.S. destinations, much cheaper than either Europe or Latin America. I see LAX pricing out at $516 for Christmas departure, return Tuesday the 27th. More miles than you need, of course. You should be able to beat that price with a little keyboard pounding.

However, in your other post on the same topic, you say you need 2,000 miles, not 2,800, which should be easier/cheaper; and that your budget is $250, which you didn't mention here and which may be impossible. Which version should we trust?
