Hi,

Due to the fog issue in LHR last weekend, I ended up missing my connection and had an unexpected stay in LHR. Since i was late, this was the only hotel closes to LHR that had room availability.

Location: 30 mins from LHR, close by there is a Sainsbury, but other than that, not sure what's in the area.

Room: Paid a rather high rate of approx 125 GBP (last min..). Allocated a room on the ground floor (1st floor) - sadly to say this has got to be one of the smallest room I've been to outside of London city center. With 2, it was hardly doable without bumping into each other. If I had normal travel luggage, there was only space for one and I would have no idea where to place the other one.
The room was also freezing cold when I entered and the thermostat was useless (the only thing not renovated) - I discovered later the next day in the cupboard an electric heater.

Bathroom: Again a small corner - fit for a mouse. The tub/shower area was one of the smallest from width point of view. Even as a small built person, I had problems without hitting the glass protection or the bath handle support of the wall. What was worst, they have (I know they will say from environment point of view) a cheap shower head which has only a few water outlets pinched to create water in a mist form (so you would still have the spray radius but not the strength).

One good thing - its clear that they have renovated the place - very nice in my opinion, but due to the size, still a big

Breakfast: The breakfast room was packed - they had to use the bar area as an extension. Wait time was ok and spread was good - good english breakfast spread and others. The quality was of the items were good.

Staff: For me this was at least the main plus of this place. Best were the morning restaurant staff - very efficient and friendly. One of the best breakfast staff that handled the crowds efficiently without looking distressed - good team work. Front desk staff - as expected, nothing exceptional.

HH elite: As a Diamond, no room upgrade, only benefit was the breakfast (mine was included in the room rate) and drinks at the bar. No complimentary water in the room. [heck- where the minibar is supposed to be - it is now just a empty space]

Again, for value for money, I would not stay at this place if I had to pay > 60 GBP for this place if placed in these mouse hole rooms. Such a pity since the renovated rooms are very nice, but for the space, worst than any Ibis/HIX or even hostel rooms you get.
