In addition, over the weekend I was able to get 4 First Class KE flight for 80k each, which would be much better than Business Class Asiana (my initial thought since it is First vs Business). Anyone disagree with this?
We have never experience Business or First class, so i don't even know much about it aside from pictures and videos online.
Well, I'd advise first class in any event, since I believe the award miles difference between first and business class on Korean is pretty low. But if I understand the two quoted posts correctly, you're looking at 80K miles per person on Asiana in business versus 80K miles per person on Korean in first. In that case, I most definitely agree that you should go for Korean in first.
It's very hard to quantify these things, and in any event the ways in which everyone would do so would differ. Still, my own very subjective and rough calculation is as follows for the long flights you'll be taking:
If the value of 1 represents a flight experience (taking into account seats, service, in-flight entertainment, food, lounges, etc.) that one might call neither pleasant nor unpleasant, then:
Flying economy has a value of .5.
Flying business has a value of 2
Flying first has a value of 3
Not sure this helps at all, but there you have it.
