PAL lets economy ticket holders bid on an upgrade to business class. Has anyone had any experience with an upgrade bid? I'm going to give it a shot, just don't know what a fair bid would be. Tried doing a forum search but didn't find anything.

It's a pretty lousy process. There is a thread on here somewhere which I saw a few months ago.

Bid minimum amount. Their yields are garbage so you'll likely get it at minimum.

Upgrade success means no online checkin possible as it screws up your ticket, so also no seat selection without calling (never tried calling).
