Stay Report - Hilton Garden Inn Raleigh / Durham Airport - December 16 - 17

Location: The hotel is located on RDU Center Blvd just off of Aviation Parkway. The hotel is actually located on the RDU Airport Grounds as is a mere two miles from the terminals. Nearby is a large Sheetz gas station and I-40 and Morrisville itself are also very close and the proximity to I-40 makes it an easy drive to either downtown Raleigh or Durham.



Hotel: Definitely an above average HGI. It's nice having this hotel on the airport grounds and it's newer and feels as such. The lobby is large and inviting and the restaurant serves dinner until 10 and the bar is open until midnight. There's also a business center and suite shop off the lobby. There's a large parking lot which is helpful.



Check In: The only negative part of my visit. No one was at the desk when I arrived and after waiting a little I finally managed to get the attention of two employees who were sitting in an office behind the desk having a personal conversation and playing on their phones. At least once an agent came to the desk everything was handled well.

Room: Along with the theme of the hotel, very nice. Definitely more modern and spacious than most HGIs. Plus a larger bathroom. The newer TV was much appreciated as was the working wifi and strong water pressure in the shower.







My rate was $80 with tax which was quite a bargain. I will say though that for an airport hotel, 6:30 AM is really late to start breakfast.
