If they remove 11111111 from the FQTR field, then they can go in the NORMAL way and add 222222222 to the PNR (which puts it in the FQTV field).
I've been told, by AC, to explicitly ask agents to delete the FQTR field in these situations. Now, whether or not they're willing to do it is another matter entirely.
This came up for me when another person booked me a ticket, and I wanted to go on standby on an earlier flight. I absolutely needed my SE priority.
Worked like a charm. So this is my 3rd call - an agent picks up, says no, can't be done. As I am talking, she transfers me to Aeroplan -how rude!
Called again. Again, no, can't be done and why don't you do at the airport. Explain that I am travelling with an infant and flight is at 6 am so do not want to waste time at the airport. and so I give him instructions as outlined above.
