Thanks Roger. Yes it is kind of nerve wrecking, and checking every day. Rather than have to call AA in Jan I just transferred one Starpoint to one account and when that posts I'll do the other. With UA it shows up in a day or two so hopefully AA will be the same. I should have done that rather than get mags that I don't need or want.

Transaction date is what counts and not posting date. Some have reported the miles came back automatically once the transaction posted others had to call to get the miles restored.
Waiting to the last minute is nerve wrecking. Personally, I use Rewards Network dining program and try to get several dines in during the year. This keeps the account active and gives me a good reason to eat out more often. If RN is not an option, set an annual alert to refresh the accounts with what is available.
