If I put all my miles into DL this year, I would have easily made DL PLT, as DL/AF are the partners I primarily use and I fly a fair number of discount J and F tickets.
As a DL gold, I get upgrades about 30-40% of the time, including upgrades on award tickets fairly often.
Yes, if you stick to ONE program it works. However,
mrapollinax was considering splitting the 50,000+ miles between AA and DL. That is not a clever way to do things IMHO.
