Seems like it. I may pull all my flying into AA and DL into their own perspective FF programs now. The main draw was always having one place to put all my miles which now seems to be going away. I can't possibly be the only one in this situation.

I assume you fly about 50,000 miles now. Say you split that among AA and DL. Each 25,000. That just give you "silver status", IF you ALSO spend $3000 with EACH of them. Basically, $6000 right there for a free bag benefit. And note that AA and DL will just sell F away to kettles while relegating "elites" to the middle seat. Forget about upgrades as a lowest elite.
