Similar due to corporate rules. AA and DL are our preferred carriers and it was nice to be able to earn AS miles even if not able to book AS. I'm sorry DL and AS couldn't figure out a way to make this work. Or that the announcement could have been done at end of schedule. Oh well.

Despite the official announcement, I think this was part of the DOJ approval for the VX acquisition too. No way would AS not have informed DOJ that this was coming when DOJ was looking at AS' codeshares. And this lines up with some of the rumors in press articles. Maybe not officially part of the settlement, but there looming in the background.
