NO! you should check-in for your second choice seat and hope that you can get a front row seat. If you do not check-in then when you reach the airport many of 'the best seats' will already be occupied and you will be given whatever is available. If there is room in the cabin it is always possible to change seats at the airport check-in/bag drop.
