Not sure why people are so surprised. The partnership with Ceasars plugged a hole in Starwood as they had no strip properties. With the Marriott merger we have Cosmopolitan on the strip so no need to partner.
How's plat treatment at Cosmo? How's their players' club program?
The big draw of the Caesar's promotion is that I could earn qualifying nights with SPG on comp'd stay. CET has a large portfolio of properties at which I can get fully comp'd stays based on my play patterns. Don't know if I can replicate that without Caesar's.
