The disabling during critical phases of flight is not an F/A function, though. It's part of the "blue light" above the cockpit door that we control. Light On/outlets off just before taxi. Light off/outlets On at 10,000' with the double-chime then the reverse on descent.

If:
1 - the power outlets are disabled and enabled as you describe AND
2 - the blue light on the edge of the seat is disabled when power is disabled AND
3 - the purpose of the blue light is to alert the FAs during the safety check (during taxiing, after the safety demo, and on final approach after the 10,000 feet double chime) for plugged-in devices
Then things don't add up, right?
