I had a strange situation with my recent AA metal LAX-LHR flight.
This was purchased through a travel agent (flightsmojo) that likely had a bulk discount.
Anyways, this is how it posted on the way out:

The only thing I can think of is on the way out only one of the two on the reservation had their systemwide clear, so record was split and my ticket (the one with the upgrade) presumably reissued. On the way back both of the (now separate tickets) systemwide's cleared and thus tickets probably reissued again. My GF's ticket (which kept the original record locator) still posted as distance:

I find this very interesting. I would love the extra miles but don't want to create waves if I bring this up with AA. Should I ask?
