I've no status on any airline, I only fly for leisure, and I book everything myself...and I like Alaska Airlines. Why? The majority of my flights are SEA/DFW (I don't like flying into DAL) and only American also flies non-stop into there from Seattle and, in my experience, the quality on American is rather poor. My experience on Alaska has been consistently good, even during periods of poor weather like Seattle just had, and at this point I've been flying with them enough that I'm not inclined to change away.

The price is still fine, I have their credit card so the bag fee nonsense that almost everyone does is waived (yes, I check bags; remember, I'm a leisure traveler), and I've collected up enough miles that I get a free ticket every now and again. That's good enough for me.
