Yeah, it annoyed me at first, mainly because of the long lines. But eventually you calm down and realize that the only reason you're eager to get on is to get your bag up by your seat. As long as I can do that each time, I'm not thinking about it any more.

There are a million ideas about boarding groups, and every one is guaranteed to make someone unhappy. It's not perfect now, but it's not bad, except when you have several families with small children "pre-board" (or is it just board first?). Just pick row 20 or 21 as much as possible, and you can be at the end of line 2 and still get your bag up, worst case the first slot in row 22.
