I was travelling to Germany with a friend and got beeped at the lounge and upgraded to CE. Being a cheeky chappie I feigned disappointment and said I presumed that included my friend as I couldn't bear to be apart from him. To no avail obviously!

Get to the gate and I headed to the priority boarding queue to rub it in a bit. Unfortunately got beeped again so my friend boarded ahead of me via the main queue. When I got on the plane with my third boarding pass, for 4A, I saw my friend had magically appeared in 4C!

Unfortunately there was a lady in 4A and I noticed a gentleman in my old seat, 3D, and a very confused FA trying to figure things out.

After a minute or so we figured things out - my friend swapped with the gentleman.

I've no idea what happened - some late passenger changes I guess - but in the end my friend and I got upgraded and the couple got to sit together and I only had a couple of awkward moments at the front of the plane trying to look like I wasn't holding everyone up!
