Open to ideas if transferring would be better but doesn't seem so considering not having much of anything with Chases's airline partners. Not necessarily looking for 1st class, but would like business, or something of an upgrade from regular economy for the Florida flights. For Hawaii, same thing, even if just 2 of the 4 flights. In my book, I am still ahead even flying economy all around on just points.
End goal is to not have to "pay" for airfare on our bigger trips. Whichever program I would benefit from the most would influence which card to sign up for next (80k points on Ink Business or an actual airline card) and which airline for the GSP & NYC trips.
For most USA domestic flights only first & coach/economy are offered. Only a few airlines/routes offer 3 classes (first/business/economy). Some airlines have
economy+, which is economy with extra leg room. Some non USA international airlines, and soon AA, have
premium economy on long haul which is a separate class, between economy and business.
Long term you will be better to concentrate on 1 ffp. The airline you fly and the airline freq flyer program you credit those flights to does not need to be the same. That is what ff partners and alliances are about. You can earn ff miles in your ffp flying on other partner airlines.
