I never understood why the power plugs don't auto-shut off until they can be used at 10,000 feet. I'm pretty sure either some UA aircraft, or maybe it's on other carriers, do that. Makes it a lot simpler - the light goes red, instead of green, and that way if people have their devices plugged in, it doesn't really matter. I know the 737s stay on.

I mean, if they can do it for wifi, can't they do that for the plugs pretty easily. Would also give the FAs one less thing to worry about during take off/landing.
