Met both bonuses on a trip to Maui (flew Alaska Air) last month. Between sign up bonuses and regular spending, currently sitting on approx 185,00 UR points. Flying out of BOS, we have a trips/flights planned to GSP next month, NYC in April, Disney in October, and then Maui again in March of 2018. GSP and NYC flights are cheap enough to pay cash. Disney, I want to fly the family (2 adults, 1 child, and 1 infant) in business class (or like a Delta comfort+). Same for next Hawaii trip. So trying to see how to use the points for the October trip but save/earn enough more for the next Hawaii flights (BOS to SAN, stay overnight, SAN to OGG, then on the way back stay 4-5 nights in SAN.
I've been putting all regular spending on the CSR. Good for the 3x on dining and travel, but think I could be doing better than just 1 point on all else. I use a BOA 3% cash back for gas for now. With a $3k purchase coming up as well as will soon be booking Disney for $6k, wonder if I should be looking into getting another card to easily hit a bonus. Thought about the Freedom Unlimited or the Southwest card (work toward companion pass?). Looking forward to hearing any suggestions or ideas.
For First Class to/from Hawaii, currently your cheapest award option would be to transfer UR points to Korean's Skypass program, and redeem for travel on AS -- if AS has lowest-tier award seats available, as those are the only AS award seats for which KE miles can be redeemed. I believe that KE permits a free stopover in each direction.
Given the short duration of the BOS-MCO flight, I'm not sure that I would spend UR points on First Class for that route. Maybe look into JetBlue's nonstops, and pony up for the "Even More Legroom" (EML) seats.
