The net is zero gained in cash and you've just diverted $1000 to useless spending. Just cancel the card and you will not be required to pay the 95 no?
- unless you've asked for a retention outside of the billing of the annual fee- that I would understand.
For $1,000 you get 1,000 miles, the ability to sign up for the card again and earn 50,000 miles.
