I never get bored but I also love the place because it is one of the only places in the world where you can leave your watch by the bedside and it does not matter a bit if you returned one, two or three hours later, because the pure luxury is that time does not matter. The concierge always calls me the night before to remind me that I am leaving the next morning and even then, they come and help me pack an hour before the seaplane picks me up.
May I add that I go the Kanuhura, One and Only resort. Worth all the many pennies.
That is exactly the way I feel about it! I love the Maldives and have been 6 times, often to more than 1 resort. After the first visit I skip Male (for the reasons mentioned by I-flybynight and others). But the gentle pace of the resorts, the perfect turquoise waters and the amazing fish life (pity the corals have suffered so badly from the bleaching event) are an absolute tonic. The people are really nice too - even if I don't share their aversion to alcohol.

Haven't tried Kanuhura yet - but it's on my hit list.
