Pucci, when I was at prep. school all our 'matrons' were 18 year old GAP students who left lasting memories on us 10 year olds.........!
(And yes, on the jump at 3L is a lovely place to spend 12 hours.....!)
Fbg, 'Jumpseats' are not only found in the cockpit (where they are referred to as the 'Observer Position'....no, not the one usually found in a left-wingers bedroom....) but also in the cabin and the galleys (facing rearwards, to allow cabin viewing during t/o and landing). The ones in the main-deck galleys on a 744 are double-width, which means that some extra pax can be carried.
But I did have a great time in Honkers, including managing to blag our way into
Drop which is apparently the "best club in HK".....I don't think so.
Dakota, there were indeed about 30 of us on standby for 2 flights out, including a couple of peeps who'd made their way up from BKK that was embargoed. VS were offering DBC, we all got away on BA and I didn't hang around to find out how bad CX was. Stupid me, plan a w/e away in HKG and only realising on arriving at the airport for the return flight that it was the end of the Easter school holidays.......
