Thanks, folks. I think this is the final straw for me, after decades as a Citibank customer, being Citigold as well. When I get home, I am finding another bank. Of course, this is like the US airlines -- big US banks are an oligopoly so they really don't care.
Is BofA or Wells Fargo any better though?
I gave up the big banks a long time ago. I now use a local credit union for day-to-day banking, and an account at an online bank that provides ATM fee rebates for withdrawals while traveling. I have never looked back.
I still use credit cards from the major banks, because it seems the small players can't compete in that area.
