Agree, they can credit any earned points at the store level. That's exactly what the hotline person suggested, since (1) hotline can't access same-day receipts and (2) any hotline credit is supposedly a "one-time courtesy."
IMHO, there's no issue with going back to the store and POLITELY asking them to credit your account with the points that you LEGITIMATELY EARNED under the promo that GIANT CREATED. "It’s not personal, Sonny. It’s strictly business."
