We are heading to chatuchak market tomorrow so I was hoping to buy a few souvenirs there.

Many thanks
In theory, no problem. However a couple of weeks ago I saw a billboard condemning treating the buddha as a decoration or tourist item. Any buddha. The billboard seemed to be targeting primarily buddha tattoos, but TIT (This Is Thailand).

The buddha items clearly designed for tourists are cheap trinkets. Why bother? Why take the risk, small as it is?
