Apologies for reopening what was a thoroughly discussed query but may I confirm that the outcome of the above discussions still stands? I.e. That buddha items clearly designed for tourists should in principle be ok to take with you.

We are heading to chatuchak market tomorrow so I was hoping to buy a few souvenirs there.
